A IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS Follow basic safety precautions, including: 1 This appliance can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been supervised/instructed and understand the hazards involved. • Children must not use or play with the appliance. 2 Keep the appliance and cable out of reach of children. & Misuse of the appliance may cause injury. 3 Unplug the appliance before assembly, disassembly, or cleaning. 4 Don’t leave the appliance unattended while plugged in. 5 If the cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or someone similarly qualified, to avoid hazard. H Don’t put the handle in liquid. 6 Don’t use the wand in hot oil – even moderately hot oil can cause a nasty burn. 7 Don’t try to chip ice, don’t try to chop raw meat, and take great care with the blades. 8 Don’t use the appliance for any purpose other than those described in these instructions. 9 Don’t operate the appliance if it’s damaged or malfunctions. 10 Don’t run the motor continuously for more than 2 minutes, it may overheat. After 2 minutes switch off for at least 2 minutes, to recover. household use only 5 FITTING/REMOVING ATTACHMENTS 1 Unplug the appliance. 2 To fit the wand, push it on to the end of the handle, and turn it anti-clockwise. 3 To remove the wand, turn it clockwise, then pull the wand off the handle. C SWITCH ON 4 Put the plug into the power socket. 5 Press the switch to start the motor, release it to switch off. 2

You can blend, pulp or puree ingredients in the pan or bowl you’re going to cook them in. 9 Whatever container you use, make sure it’s on a stable, flat surface, and support it with your free hand, to prevent it wandering over the work surface. 10 Don’t immerse the wand past the top of the parallel-sided tube. 11 When using it in hot liquids, don’t let the blade break the surface at an angle, as you might spray liquid outside the bowl/pan/container. 12 Don’t switch on till the blade is inside the food container. 13 Switch off before lifting the blade from the food container. C THE BEAKER 14 Don’t fill the beaker more than about half full. 15 Sit it on a stable, flat work surface, and support it with your free hand. 16 For storage, you may use the non-slip base as a lid. C CARE AND MAINTENANCE 17 Unplug the appliance. 18 Take great care with the blades – don’t handle them directly, use a nylon washing-up brush. 19 Wipe the handle surfaces with a soft damp cloth. 20 Wash the beaker and the non-slip base in warm soapy water. ` You may wash these parts in a dishwasher. 21 If you use a dishwasher, the harsh environment inside the dishwasher will affect the surface finishes. 22 The damage should be cosmetic only, and should not affect the operation of the appliance. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION W To avoid environmental and health problems due to hazardous substances in electrical and electronic goods, appliances marked with this symbol mustn’t be disposed of with unsorted municipal waste, but recovered, reused, or recycled. 3
