HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 4640 e-All-in-One Series Get started 1. Follow the illustrations on the setup flyer to set up your printer. 2. Install software. Windows® Go to www.hp.com/ePrint/DJ4645, and then follow the on-screen instructions. If your computer is not connected to the Internet, insert the software CD in your computer. If CD does not start, browse to English Computer, double-click the CD/DVD drive icon with the HP logo, double-click setup.exe, and then follow the on-screen instructions. Apple OS X: The latest HP software is available from www.hp.com/ePrint/DJ4645. HP software for Mac is not included on the software CD that came with the printer. iOS and OS X: This product is Apple AirPrint™-enabled. The printer and iOS device or Mac must be on the same local network. Control Panel English 1 On button: Turns the printer on or off. Home: Returns you to the Home screen, where you can access the Copy, Fax, or Scan menu to make a copy, send a fax or change fax settings, or scan a document. You can check estimated ink levels, 2 print Quick Forms, as well as access the Wireless Direct, Tools, Preference or Wireless menu to make settings or use tools. 3 Up button: Use this button to navigate menus and select number of copies. 4 Wireless status light: Indicates whether the printer has a wireless connection to the network. Wireless button: Opens the Wireless Summary menu, where you can check wireless status and 5 change wireless settings. You can also print a wireless test report to help diagnose network connection issues. 6 Keypad: Use the keypad to enter numbers and text. 7 Back: Returns to the previous screen. Selection button: The function of this button changes depending on what is displayed on the printer 8 display. 9 OK: Confirms the current selection. 10 Down button: Use this button to navigate menus and select number of copies. 11 Help: Shows help content if it is available for the current operation. ePrint button: Opens the Web Services Summary menu, where you can check ePrint status details, 12 change ePrint settings, or print an Info page. Basic Troubleshooting If you are unable to print: 1. Make sure the cable connections are secure. 2. Make sure the printer is powered on. The On button will be lit white. 3. Check the wireless status light to make sure your printer is connected to a network. • Solid blue light indicates that wireless connection has been established and you can print. • Slow blinking light indicates that wireless is on, but the printer is not connected to a network. Make sure your printer is within the range of a wireless signal. • Fast blinking light indicates wireless error. Refer to the message on the printer display. • If wireless is turned off, the wireless light is off.
