Bitte lesen Sie diese Bedienungsanleitung sorgfaltig durch, bevor
Sie das Gerat benutzen. Bewahren Sie die Bedienungsanleitung
gut auf, damit Sie auch spater darauf zuruckgreifen konnen.
Wichtig
• Schlie?en Sie das Gerat nur an Wechsel-
spannung (~) an und prufen Sie, ob Ihre Netz-
spannung mit der Spannungsangabe auf
dem Gerat ubereinstimmt.
•      Dieses Gerat darf nicht in der Nahe von
mit Wasser gefullten Behaltern wie z.B.
Badewanne, Dusche, Waschbecken verwendet
werden. Das Gerat darf nicht nass werden.
• Als zusatzlicher Schutz sollte im Stromkreis
des Badezimmers eine Fehlerstrom-Schutz-
einrichtung (FI/RCD) mit einem Bemessungs-
auslosestrom von maximal 30 mA installiert
sein. Fragen Sie Ihren Elektroinstallateur.
• Dieses Gerat kann von Kindern ab 8 Jahren
und von Personen mit reduzierten physischen,
sensorischen oder mentalen Fahigkeiten oder
Mangel an Erfahrung und/oder Wissen benutzt
werden, wenn sie beaufsichtigt oder bezuglich
des sicheren Gebrauchs des Gerates unter-
wiesen wurden und die daraus resultierenden
Gefahren verstanden haben. Kinder durfen
nicht mit dem Gerat spielen. Reinigung und
Benutzer-Wartung durfen nicht durch Kinder
durchgefuhrt werden, es sei denn, sie sind
alter als 8 Jahre und beaufsichtigt.
• Vermeiden Sie eine Beruhrung hei?er Gerate-
teile.
• Legen Sie das Gerat in hei?em Zustand nur
auf hitzebestandigen Oberflachen ab.
• Das Netzkabel nicht um das Gerat wickeln.
Uberprufen Sie es regelma?ig auf Schad-
stellen. Ist das Netzkabel beschadigt, muss
es  durch eine vom Hersteller benannte
Reparaturwerkstatt ersetzt werden, um
Gefahrdungen  zu vermeiden.
• Dieses Gerat sollte nur bei trockenem Haar
verwendet werden.

Inbetriebnahme
•  Schlie?en Sie das Gerat ans Netz an. Halten Sie die Ein-/
Aus-Taste 5 drei Sekunden lang gedruckt, um das Gerat
einzuschalten.
•  In der Temperaturanzeige erscheinen drei rot blinkende Seg-
mente, die anzeigen, dass das Gerat aufheizt (Abb. A).
•  Nach ca. 40 Sekunden ist die minimale Stylingtemperatur
erreicht und Sie konnen mit dem Stylen beginnen.
•  Mit der Temperaturwippe 4 «– / +» konnen Sie die Temperatur
innerhalb von funf Bereichen einstellen, die durch Segmente in
der Temperaturanzeige 3 dargestellt werden. Wenn Sie die
Temperatureinstellung andern, blinken die Segmente, bis die
gewunschte Temperatur erreicht ist.
•  Wenn die Segmente dauerhaft erscheinen, ist die eingestellte
Temperatur erreicht.
•  Wir empfehlen folgende Temperatur-Einstellungen:
1 Segment «°C min»:   fur feines Haar (Abb. B).
2 bis 4 Segmente:   fur normales Haar
5 Segmente «°C max»:  fur dickeres Haar und professionellen
Einsatz (Abb. C)
Je hoher die eingestellte Temperatur, desto schneller erreichen
Sie gute Glattergebnisse.
Zur Schonung von chemisch behandeltem Haar sollte die
Temperatur jedoch auf maximal drei Segmente eingestellt sein.
Stylen
Vorbereitung
•  Trocknen Sie Ihr Haar vollstandig, bevor Sie das Gerat
verwenden.
•  Kammen Sie Ihr Haar zunachst mit einem groben Kamm, um
es zu entwirren (Abb. D).
•  Teilen Sie das Haar in einzelne Strahnen auf. Halten Sie eine
ca. 3–4 cm breite Strahne straff und legen Sie sie am Haar-
ansatz zwischen die Styling-Platten (Abb. E).
So glatten Sie Ihr Haar
•  Bewegen Sie das Gerat langsam und kontinuierlich entlang der
gesamten Haarlange (Abb. F), ohne langer als zwei Sekunden
auf einer Stelle zu verweilen. So erhalten Sie beste Ergebnisse,
ohne die Haare zu sehr zu strapazieren. Die Styling-Platten 1
gleiten leicht und gleichma?ig entlang der Strahne.
•  Das Gerat lasst sich besser handhaben, wenn Sie es mit der
anderen Hand am «Cool touch» 2 festhalten.
•  Sie konnen die Haarspitzen nach au?en oder innen formen,
indem Sie das Gerat entsprechend drehen, bevor Sie es uber
die Haarspitzen hinaus ziehen.
Abschaltautomatik
Aus Sicherheitsgrunden schaltet das Gerat nach ca. 30 Minuten
automatisch aus. Drucken Sie erneut die Ein-/Aus-Taste 5, falls
Sie das Gerat noch weiter benutzen mochten.
Nach dem Gebrauch
•  Um das Gerat auszuschalten, drucken Sie eine Sekunde lang
die Ein/Aus-Taste 5.
•  Bedenken Sie, dass die Styling-Platten noch hei? sein konnen
und die Gefahr des Verbrennens besteht. Nach ca. 20 Minu-
ten Abkuhlzeit konnen Sie das Gerat ohne jegliche Gefahr
beruhren.
Reinigen
•  Vor dem Reinigen immer Netzstecker ziehen. Tauchen Sie das
Gerat niemals in Wasser.
•  Reinigen Sie das Gerat mit einem feuchten Tuch und trocknen
Sie es mit einem weichen Tuch nach.
Anderungen vorbehalten.
Das Gerat darf am Ende seiner Lebensdauer nicht mit
dem Hausmull entsorgt werden. Die Entsorgung kann
uber den Braun Kundendienst oder lokal verfugbare
Ruckgabe- und Sammelstellen erfolgen.

Als Hersteller ubernehmen wir fur dieses Gerat – nach Wahl des
Kaufers zusatzlich zu den gesetzlichen Gewahrleistungsan-
spruchen gegen den Verkaufer – eine Garantie von 2 Jahren ab
Kaufdatum. Innerhalb dieser Garantiezeit beseitigen wir nach
unserer Wahl durch Reparatur oder Austausch des Gerates
unentgeltlich alle Mangel, die auf Material- oder Herstellungs-
fehlern beruhen. Die Garantie kann in allen Landern in Anspruch
genommen werden, in denen dieses Braun Gerat von uns
autorisiert verkauft wird.
Von der Garantie sind ausgenommen: Schaden durch unsach-
gema?en Gebrauch, normaler Verschlei? und Verbrauch sowie
Mangel, die den Wert oder die Gebrauchstauglichkeit des
Gerates nur unerheblich beeinflussen. Bei Eingriffen durch nicht
von uns autorisierte Braun Kundendienstpartner sowie bei
Verwendung anderer als Original Braun Ersatzteile erlischt die
Garantie.

Our products are engineered to meet the highest standards of

Please read these use instructions carefully before use and keep
them for future reference.
Important
• Plug your appliance into an alternating current
outlet only and make sure that your house-
hold voltage corresponds to the voltage
printed on the appliance.
•      This appliance must never be used near
water (e.g. a filled wash basin, bathtub or
shower). Do not allow the appliance to get wet.
• For additional protection, it is advisable to
install a residual current device (RCD) with a
rated residual operating current not exceeding
30 mA in the electrical circuit of your bath-
room. Ask your installer for advice.
• This appliance can be used by children aged
from 8 years and above and persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabili-
ties or lack of experience and knowledge if
they have been given supervision or instruc-
tion concerning the safe use of the appliance
and understand the hazards involved. Children
shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning
and user maintenance shall not be made by
children unless they are older than 8 years
and supervised.
• Avoid touching the hot parts of the appliance.
• When hot, do not place on surfaces that are
not heat-resistant.
• Do not wrap the mains cord around the
appliance. Regularly check the mains cord
for wear or damage. If the cord is damaged,
it must be replaced by an authorized Braun
Service Centre in order to avoid a hazard.
• The appliance should be used on dry hair only.

Getting started
•  Connect the appliance to an electrical outlet and push the
«on/off» button 5 for three seconds to turn it on.
•  During heat-up, the temperature display shows three red
flashing segments (Fig. A).
•  After approximately 40 seconds, the minimum styling
temperature is reached. You can start using the appliance.
•  Using the temperature selector 4 «– / +», you can adjust the
temperature within a 5-step range that is represented by
segments in the display 3. When changing the temperature
setting, the display segments will flash.
•  As soon as the preset temperature is reached, the display
segments stop flashing.
•  We recommend the following temperature settings:
1 segment «°C min»:   for fine hair (Fig. B)
2 to 4 segments:   for normal hair
5 segments «°C max»:  for thick hair and professional use
(Fig. C)
The higher the temperature setting, the faster you will get a
sleek straightening result.
However, for better care of chemically treated hair, the
temperature setting should be 3 segments maximum.
Styling
Preparing for use
•  Make sure your hair is completely dry before using the
appliance.
•  First, comb your hair through with a wide toothed comb to
remove tangles (Fig. D).
•  Section your hair off. Starting close to the roots, take a thin
section of hair (strands of 3–4 cm maximum) and clamp it
firmly between the styling plates (Fig. E).
How to straighten your hair
•  Gently run the straightener through the entire length of the hair,
slowly and steadily, from roots to the ends (Fig. F) without
stopping for longer than 2 seconds. This will ensure best
straightening results without damaging your hair. The styling
plates 1 ensure easy and smooth gliding.
•  For improved control when gliding along a strand, you may
stabilise the appliance by holding it with the other hand on the
cool touch points 2.
•  You can create flicks at the hair ends by slowly turning the
appliance either outwards or inwards before releasing a strand.
Safety auto-off
For safety reasons, the appliance automatically switches off after
approximately 30 minutes.
If you want to keep on straightening, simply press the «on/off»
button 5.
After use
•  After each use, switch off the appliance by pushing the «on/off»
button 5 for 1 second.
•  Even after switching off, the styling plates are still hot. Do not
touch them to avoid burnings. Only after 20 minutes cooling
time you can touch the appliance without any risk.
Cleaning
•  Always unplug before cleaning. Never immerse the appliance
in water.
•  Clean the appliance with a damp cloth and use a soft cloth to
dry.
Subject to change without notice.
Please do not dispose of the product in the household
waste at the end of its useful life. Disposal can take place
at a Braun Service Centre or at appropriate collection
points provided in your country.
Guarantee
We grant a 2 year guarantee on the product commencing on the
date of purchase. Within the guarantee period we will eliminate
any defects in the appliance resulting from faults in materials or
workmanship, free of charge either by repairing or replacing the
complete appliance at our discretion.
This guarantee extends to every country where this appliance is
supplied by Braun or its appointed distributor.
This guarantee does not cover: damage due to improper use,
normal wear or use as well as defects that have a negligible
effect on the value or operation of the appliance. The guarantee
becomes void if repairs are undertaken by unauthorised persons
and if original Braun parts are not used.
To obtain service within the guarantee period, hand in or send
the complete appliance with your sales receipt to an authorised
Braun Customer Service Centre (address information available
online at www.service.braun.com).
